Environmental Practices
We believe that we have a responsibility to our employees to maintain a safe and productive work environment. To that end, we provide health insurance to all our staff at no cost to them. All regular employees also receive paid vacation, sick leave and holidays. We provide our staff with all necessary tools and protective devices they need to do their work in comfort and safety.
We retain a professional environmental consulting firm to provide quarterly reviews of our environmental and safety procedures. They provide us with written reports, and advise us of any corrective actions necessary. We minimize the use of all toxic materials in our facility; we have a special unit for evaporation of wastewater from those machines that process silver castings, to avoid contamination of the local water system from run-off.
Our environmental consultants conduct mandatory quarterly safety trainings for all employees and assist us in maintaining all the proper documentation required by the city of Oakland, the state of California and the federal government, around issues of safety and environmental compliance.
